COMMUNITY

We were actually made for it.  But community doesn't just happen, you have to be intentional about it.  This is the very reason we offer Life Groups here at Emmanuel.   Groups are safe places where people can ‘let down’ and truly enjoy the company of each other.  Groups are a smaller setting of friends who continue to discover Jesus, together.  Groups are people who can laugh or cry together, and in the end, know the people around them have their back in prayer.  Jesus understood that life happens in circles, not in rows ... He had his own circle of 12!   We encourage you to dive into a Life Group this semester!   Find one that works for you, commit to it, and watch what God will do in your life.

Running Against the Wind

For many Christians ‘living the Christian life’ is a struggle and the journey seems difficult and unfulfilling at times. Many questions are asked by Christians today such as ‘why is it so hard’? ‘I struggle to do what is right in God’s eyes’, ‘Where is the Joy?” These questions and many others are shared along the way in this (our) Christian Journey. This is a lesson and a journey that takes the Christian time to understand that we cannot live the Christian life, it is lived through us. It is a journey of learning how to press into the wind (working with it) not working against it.

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit

Healing Hearts Ministry is offering a Bible Study class this fall. “Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed.” 1 Corinthians 12:1. And 2 Peter 1, reminds us that everything we need for life and godliness has been given to us by God’s divine power. He continues that even though all has been given as a gift, we have a responsibility to grow in wisdom and character in order that we would not be ineffective and unproductive as we walk our spiritual lives. The most important gift we have received is the Holy Spirit and therefore we have the ability to operate in the gifts of the Spirit.
