There are several ways we as a local church can serve our neighbors in the aftermath of the flooding.
1. Most importantly, pray for the displaced families, who have lost their home and most of their personal belongings. Our God can turn a tragedy into a triumph!
2. We will be partnering with Omaha Rapid Response as they will be having teams go out on a regular basis throughout the week and on the weekends. Contact ORR web page to volunteer: http://omaharapidresponse.org/contact-us/
3. There is also another opportunity to help at Christ for the City International, which is located at 5835 N 90th St. They are sheltering individuals and families who have been displaced due to the flooding. On their website they have a sign-up for people to take dinners to them throughout their stay. This is a long-term facility where families can stay there through June 30th. CFCI is also in need of volunteers who can spend the night from 7 PM to 7AM periodically to give their staff a break. Continually check our social media outlets and/or our church-wide emails for any updates or emergency needs.
